Another Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

We are blessed with another beautiful day to enjoy.  I'm off in a few minutes to work my rummage shift for CSL and then off to Kanons first Jr League game of the season.  Parker has practice today and Tyler is working after school. I plan to enjoy the craziness today and celebrate the joy in the little things.  I feel God is calling me out to do something (those who are closest to me know what that thing is).  I pray, pray, pray for Gods continued blessings and for the strength to take on a new challenge.  I mentioned awhile back that I wanted to leave a legacy for my children (not that I plan on going anywhere right now), but I want them to be as proud of me as I am of them.

Oh.... and by the way this working out stuff is for the birds, but I'm doing it anyway for all the right reasons. I want to be healthier, have more energy and definitely be less stressed.  That's what I've been told will happen anyway. :) Off to day 2!

Spring Time at the Breedlove House

It's finally here and has hit wide open.  Springtime at our house means lots and lots of baseball, more of my volunteer commitments, 8th grade formal, the league spring coffee and spring social, Tyler's birthday, piano recital, Don's athletic events, prom and graduation for his school and of course the most important time of all...Easter!  I love this time of year even though some days are just a blur with everything we have to do.  Palm Sunday Church service was awesome as usual this morning.  Pastor Mike reminded us to tell everyone that Jesus Christ is King of Kings, but most of all I want to shout from the rooftop that Jesus is MY King.  My commitments and my focus have been changing over the last few months. I'm definitely still a work in progress, but I choose to make God my priority and want others when they look at our family to know without a doubt how much we love the Lord at our house.  I didn't start this blog to have a zillion followers or to showcase the things our family does. I started this blog for our family to remember special moments and to capture our journey in life.  This blog has been a great outlet for me to say things that are on my heart without any judgement from anyone.  My children love to go back and read posts and make comments from time to time to me.  I Love that!  Today may be one of those random times when I am rambling all over the place, but guess what...it's my thoughts and my blog :)

I have accomplished a couple of things these last few weeks that I really didn't know I could do...no, they weren't great things, but little things that have made me appreciate myself and the talents God has given me.  Easter is coming soon and I usually head out shopping for our Easter attire...Not this year.  I decided to make both mine and Grayson's outfits for Easter.  The boys threatened me to NOT sew anything for them, I wonder why!!!Ha!  I'll include a sneak peek of the clothes.

Grayson's Skirt (Shirt not pictured yet)

My Shirt to wear with my white linen pants
This past week included the League's Spring Coffee.  Wonderful event and a time for everything to be beautiful.  The home where the tea was held was beautiful and the ladies were all beautifully dressed.  I was stressing as usual about my item to bring, not the making of the chicken salad sandwiches but the decoration of my silver tray.  I told Don as I was doing it that "I needed Mooney right now". Don's wonderful grandmother would have had the most beautiful tray at the coffee, I'm sure.  I was fortunate to have a very nice silver tray of hers to use for this special event.  There was no need to stress, the tray turned out lovely....I think.
I have always felt at my very best when I am working.  I feel strong and smart when I am setting up contracts or establishing an organizations budget or drafting a proposal for a competitive grant.  I don't usually feel as good when it comes to entertaining, but seems like God has taken me out of my comfort zone alot lately and I think I have faired just fine.  You might have to ask my husband though....Ha!

WRESTLEMANIA!!!!!

This post is for Parker and his awesome dad  (that's what Parker thinks for enjoying this event with him)!!! Parker is in love with wrestling and his hero is John Cena.  I know this is just a phase but what better way to celebrate another wonderful childhood phase then go all out.  I think this secretly met a childhood want for Don as well. :)   Santa brought tickets to Parker for Wrestlemania at the Georgia Dome and he had been counting down the days until time to go.  The time finally arrived and Parker was so excited, he could hardly contain himself.  I think he took a shower about 3 hours before time to leave.

A memory a little 9 year old boy will treasure forever.  I'm so glad he got to see wrestlemania in person.  My grandfather used to watch wrestling like crazy and he would dare anyone to tell him it was fake.  I can remember going to his house and he would be sitting in his chair watching it.  He would have loved meeting and sharing this with Parker.
This may seem silly to some, but its entertainment for those who enjoy it.  Something fun and I know Parker and Don had a blast!!!!

Happy Birthday!!!!!

Don's birthday was March 27th and we celebrated at home with dinner, cake and of course gifts.  Every year, I struggle with finding the perfect gift for my sweet husband and this year was no exception.  However, thanks to Kanon and his love for sports like his dad, he had an idea.  We got Don Boise State v. Georgia tickets for September.  This is the first game of the year and is being played at the Georgia Dome, FUN!!!
Kanon is also hoping to be chosen as the one to use the extra ticket and go with his dad.  This did turn out to be a great gift for Don this year, I think he loved it. Better start planning for next years gift idea now......
I hope Don knows just how great we think he is, even when we don't always tell him.  We love you and can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you.
