Our "Next" Purple Hurricane

When Don coached for the Purple Hurricanes and wore the #1 Jersey lots of years ago, I had no idea that down the road Kanon would also wear #1 for the hurricanes. We are so proud of Kanon for making the 2012 freshman baseball team for Cartersville High School.  He has wanted to wear the purple for a long time and now is his chance.  So far we have played two games and they have won one and lost one.  Kanon has stepped on the field both games and has made us so proud.  He pitched first game against Darlington throwing 10 pitches and striking one out, the second game he batted and got a hit.  Don says it was fielders choice but it was a hit to me.  He hit the ball and got on first....I couldn't be more proud.  He has also shown good sportsmanship and has kept a good attitude.  I think his coaches are pleased as well.  Kanon will continue to get stronger and continue to do what he's supposed to do when he gets the opportunity and his dad and I will be there to root him on.  We are his biggest fans!

Happy Valentine's Day..........

Happy Valentine's Day 2012!
Here's a look at the valentine gifts waiting to be opened by Don and the kids.
We had a wonderful evening at home to celebrate this valentine day.  Don picked up dinner so I didn't have to cook and for those that know me....that's the best gift I could ever have.  I'm not a big fan of cooking and anytime I can get out of it, you know I will.  This years gifts were a little more practical.  The kids all needed new sweatshirts and Don needed some new "canes" wear as we prepare to cheer on our very own purple hurricane!

From Basketball Celebration to Ice Skating....

We started this particular Saturday morning off with a pizza frenzy to celebrate the end of this year's basketball season for Parker.  He had a wonderful year and it really seemed to fly by this year.  A big thank you goes out to his coach and teammates for an awesome season!

After a basketball banquet at CiCi's, Grayson and I raced to meet up with Ms. Dana and Ally to head to the ice skating rink.  This was Grayson's first attempt at ice skating and by the end of the day...she was off the wall and moving quite nicely.  I was impressed!  I was never very good at ice skating and it always hurt my ankles, but Grayson picked it up pretty quickly.  She and her friends had so much fun.  The girls were so sweet and Lydia had a great birthday.
